4 Steps to Overcoming Struggles
Are you struggling with depression, worry, fear, broken relationships?
I remember when pain was all I could see. Shame and guilt tortured me and I almost took my life because of it. These 4 things made a BIG difference.
Healing is a journey but DEFINITELY possible.
1: Your Mind Needs to Eat
Our minds need a large dose of positive information on a regular basis to be healthy. Just as your body needs to eat to survive.... your mind needs to “eat” too.
Negative thoughts get pushed out by feeding on positive information.
Start reading a book on a topic that you wish to succeed in. (Even if it’s one page at night or a book in the bathroom).
Listen to a podcast that resonates with you. One that delivers a message of hope, inspiration and truth.
Listen to it as you fall asleep, as you’re driving or any time you can.
I remember when I could barely get my butt off the couch..... but I KNEW I needed to feed on truth.
I’d listened to message after message and could FEEL strength rising up within me.
Feeding on truth will breathe new life into you. It’ll give you a new perspective for your life and give you the strength to move forward.

2: You Need a Community
Find a healthy community to connect with.
We become like those we hang with. So the EASIEST way to change who you’re becoming is to change who you hang with.
If you want to be a healthy individual, you’ll need healthy friends.
Find a ladies group, or a bible study, get connected somehow, somewhere.
MAKE THIS A PRIORITY.
Take a look at those around you, your neighbours, those on Facebook, family. Who is healthy, happy, and enjoying life?
Ask them where they go and what groups they are a part of? See if you can join them?
Be brave... get it done. You NEED this!
3: Remove Negative Things From Your Life
Identify unhealthy “in-flows” in your life.
What do you watch on tv?
What do you do online?
What do you read?
Look at?
Think about?
Who we are gets shaped by the things we put inside of us.
Garbage in = garbage out.
Cut out the garbage (and yes, it will be hard..... it may even take weeks or months to succeed) but keep at it and don’t quit till you’ve successfully done so.
Replace garbage with wholesome entertainment and in time you’ll see a difference in your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Seriously.... this is a truth that cannot be ignored!
Do it! Your happy future hinges on this.
4: Find something Worth Living For
Dream. Think about your ideal future. If you could craft it to be whatever you wish.... what would that look like?
Write it down. Find photos that serve as a continual reminder of what you want.
For now.... don’t stress about what you can or cannot do. What is or is not possible.... just dream without limits, write your vision and put images to it.
Then sit back and WATCH how this dream causes you to see and seize opportunities you wouldn’t have taken otherwise.
If you do this AND IF you are patient with the process.... you’ll watch your dream life unfold before your eyes.
Perhaps all you want at this point is joy, peace, happiness and healthy relationships.
That’s okay.... I remember being there myself. Start here and as you “get healthier” your dreams will expand and you’ll find yourself again.
