Break Bad Habits by Being Stubborn
Habits.
We all have them, we all know we should develop good ones but why is it so hard to do so?
Let me show you a mindset to have that will make it easier on you to move forward.
Habits are like rockets. A rocket uses 90% of its fuel just getting through the atmosphere. This is due to earth's strong gravitation pull. This is the hardest part of the mission.
Habits are like gravity, they pull you. You have to fight to break free from them or fight to create new ones as your old ways pull you back. Just like a rocket, 90% of your effort will need to be spent upfront just to break loose of this old habit's gravitational pull.
The good news is, once a rocket breaks through the atmosphere it's easy sailing. Habits work the same way.
Once you've successfully broken habit's gravitational pull you'll discover your new habit taking over. In fact, your new habit may even do some pulling on its own as this new way of living becomes your norm.
If you want to break or create a habit understand that your biggest challenge will take place in the first 30 days. Studies show this is how long it takes to break through habit gravity.
With this knowledge, it's easier to develop a stubborn stick-to-it attitude as you know these painful efforts will be temporary.
During this time remind yourself WHY you are breaking or creating this habit. Keep your eye on the future and remind yourself how much better life will be thereafter.
Remember, effort now results in smooth sailing thereafter.
You know what goes along with building healthy habits? Learning to manage your time. You can do this by reducing stress and managing overwhelm.
