The entrepreneurial trap...

My mom was an entrepreneur and the breadwinner. This meant she worked a lot. I don’t have many memories growing up of us doing a whole lot together. At the time, it didn’t matter to me, but as I got older I saw things differently and I longed for more.

Now that I have kids of my own, I want something different.

✅ The sneaky thing with business is that you may REALLY ENJOY what you do. It may be what you’d choose to do FOR FUN.

This is a good thing, but be careful...

I spent many years building a dream (in my down-time and as I hobby) and I still feel excitement and anticipation in what I do. But in my effort to make progress I have had to be AWARE and INTENTIONAL to keep first things first and to NOT allow myself to get out of balance with my role and responsibility as a wife and mom.

✅ I plan to nurture my relationships during this season when my business is growing.

✅ I want my children to have TIME with me and to REMEMBER me having fun with them in their childhood.

✅ I aim to create moments and memories willed with encouraging words, affection as well as TIME.

✅ Not a day goes by where I don’t savour every squishy cheek I kiss.

This morning, as my 7 years old persisted that I rollerblade with her. Sure, a wall may get scuffed along the way, but it's worth EVERY MEMORY. Not to mention, she is quite skilled. No matter HOW HARD I try to catch her rollerblading around our island... I can’t (I’m on blades too. She's fast).
